Long balls lead Brewers past Twins, 8-5

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Brewers are off to Pittsburgh feeling good about themselves, thanks to an 8-5 win at Minnesota Thursday night.  Milwaukee had to rally to post the victory, which allows Ron Roenicke's team to split a two-game series at Target Field and split this week's four interleague contests with the Twins, played at each team's home ballparks.

After the Twins went ahead on a grand slam, the visitors swung the big sticks to come roaring back.  Carlos Gomez, who was a Twin before becoming a Brewer, delivered a three run homer that just cleared the fence to get his team right back into the game.  Gomez could well be getting ready for a return visit to the  Twin Cities as an All-Star next month.  Khris Davis put Milwaukee in front 5-4 by driving a ball out to right center field.  Finally, Jonathan Lucroy flairs one to right for a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning to provide the final 8-5 margin.

Wily Peralta is the winning pitcher, with Francisco Rodriguez notching another save.
