Father's Day inspiration: Father hikes his disabled son through rough terrain to experience Arches National Park

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- An inspiring story for you on this Father's Day!

The United State's Department of the Interior shared this photo and story on Instagram on Sunday, June 15th.

The photo shows James Geier and his son, Jonah.

Jonah is disabled, and his father wanted him to experience an arch at Arches National Park in Utah.

Jonah's father hiked his 18-year-old son three miles and 480 feet over slickrock trails and up red rock steps to share with Jonah the arch you see in the picture -- a worldwide symbol of strength and endurance.

The Department of the Interior in sharing this photo on Instagram said it shows perseverance -- shared by both the Arch in withstanding time and change, and the resolve of a father in hiking his soon through rough terrain to experience it.

Happy Father's Day!
