Fire officials investigating two separate house fires; both appear suspicious in origin

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee fire crews are investigating two separate house fires that occurred late Sunday night, June 16th and early Monday morning, June 16th.  Officials say both fires are suspicious in nature.

The first house fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. near 54th and Custer.

According to officials, all occupants were able to safely evacuate the home.

The fire caused an estimated $60,000 in damage.

The cause of the fire is unknown, however, officials say it appears suspicious in origin.

The second fire broke out in a two-story vacant home near 5th and Ring around 1:46 a.m.

According to officials, a minor fire broke out on the first floor of the home.

The cause of the fire is unknown -- but officials say it appears to be suspicious.
