Craigslist killings: Pregnant teen strangled to death, boyfriend decapitated...and his head remains missing

MICHIGAN (WITI) -- A Michigan man, his pregnant girlfriend and the woman's unborn child were were murdered by a man they met on Craigslist for an "arrangement."

FOX6's sister station, FOX17 WXMI in Grand Rapids, Michigan is reporting 25-year-old Charlie Oppenneer, 18-year-old Brooke Slocum and her unborn child were killed by Brady Oestrike -- according to police.

FOX17 says the three had made an arrangement through Craigslist for Oestrike and Slocum to have sex in the presence of Oppenneer.

FOX17 says Oppenneer's vehicle was later found abandoned. His headless body was found in a wooded area last week.

During their investigation, FOX17 reports police discovered Oppenneer's girlfriend was missing.

On Thursday, July 17th, police stopped Oestrike after a police chase -- and he committed suicide.

Brooke Slocum's body was found in the trunk of his car.

Police say she died as a result of strangulation.

Police say Oppenneer's head remains missing -- despite assistance in the search from a Michigan State Police helicopter and trained dogs.

A motive for the killings has not been determined -- and police say it may never be known.
