Thirsty? Traveling Beer Garden Tour "a phenomenal success," so it's been extended!
MILWAUKEE (WITI) – Due to popular demand, the Milwaukee County Parks Traveling Beer Garden will be adding an additional stop to the 2014 tour schedule. The added seventh stop will return to where it began at Picnic Area #1 on the Root River Parkway, in the Whitnall Park area, near 92nd St. and College Ave.
“The Traveling Beer Garden tour with our partner, Sprecher Brewing, has been a phenomenal success,” said Parks Director John Dargle, Jr. “We have exceeded all of our expectations, and our patrons have been requesting more opportunities to visit this summer.”
The tour will continue with the sixth at Falk Park. A ceremonial keg tapping will take place on Wednesday, August 13 at 4 p.m. Patrons can enjoy live music and free Sprecher beer and root beer, while supplies last. Falk Park is located at 2013 W. Rawson Ave. in Oak Creek.
The Falk Park location will feature a dog-friendly atmosphere with various activities and vendors throughout the stop from August 13-24. Dogs and their owners can take part in the Agility Training on August 13, 16, 20, and 23, race dachshunds in the Doxie Races on August 17 and 24, or dress up for the Costume Contest on August 17 and 24.
The final stop at Picnic Area #1 on the Root River Parkway will kick-off on Tuesday, August 26 with a final summer keg tapping at 4 p.m. with free beer and root beer, while supplies last. The tour will conclude on Sunday, September 7.
