Not fit to stand trial: Charged in Slenderman stabbing case, attorney says Anissa Weier can't help with defense

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- The attorney for one of two 12-year-old girls accused of stabbing a classmate 19 times in the woods in Waukesha now says his client isn't mentally fit to stand trial.

12-year-old Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser have been charged as adults in the case -- each facing a felony charge of attempted first degree intentional homicide.

They're accused of stabbing another 12-year-old girl -- nearly killing her, in what police say was an attempt to please the fictional character, Slenderman.

In court this week, Weier's attorney said a psychologist has determined that Weier would not be able to help with her own defense.

A judge has already decided that Geyser isn't fit to stand trial, and last month, ordered her to receive treatment.
