How many flap jacks did it take to break a world record? A LOT!

NEW YORK (WITI) -- It's official, a new world record has been set for the tallest stack of pancakes!

Chef Emeril Lagasse and crew from the show "On The Menu" built the pancake empire on the streets of New York City.

It measured in at 87.4 centimeters, which is just under 3-feet tall.

The epic pancake stack, surpassing the previous record of 87 centimeters.

The 202 pancakes used to break the record were donated to a local food shelter.
