Milwaukee man accused of child sex assault, there may be more victims

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 45-year-old Kris Hansen of Milwaukee is charged in Washington County with the repeated sexual assault of a child. But there are some who wonder how many victims of Hansen's there may actually be.

Hansen is officiallly charged with repeatedly sexually assaulting a child for nearly a decade -- first in his Milwaukee home and then following the child after he moved to Washington County. According to a criminal complaint, Hansen is accused of befriending the boy when he was just seven years old -- meeting him at the Whitman School cafeteria where Hansen was a food server.

What is equally disturbing is what Hansen is not yet charged with. That's because he's been investigated for years by several different agencies. FOX6 News has obtained court records detailing cases in St. Francis and the City of Milwaukee.

There were complaints that Hansen lurked around skateboard parks and hung out with underage boys, buying the skateboards and expensive equipment. In 2007, court records say Hansen was banned from a middle school grounds in St. Francis. The principal sent Hansen a letter, stating "it is apparent that you present a risk to the health and safety of the students in our school system." Hansen, who was a tree trimmer at the school, was then fired.

But documents state after that Hansen was seen watching football practice and several other kids skateboarding. He was also pulled over for a traffic offense -- and there was a 14-year-old boy in his car. That same year, a complaint to Milwaukee police that Hansen made an inappropriate call to a 12-year-old girl. The girl's father and another man, Hansen admits, eventually caught up to him and punched him in the face and there was a gun cocked in front of him.

St. Francis police also got a complaint from a mother that her two kids were getting inappropriate texts from Hansen.

State investigators worked on another possible sexual assault of a boy in 2010. But no charges were filed in that.

On Friday, officers searched Hansen's home and then seized his computer, smart phone and a camera as well as graphic hand drawings, scores of notebooks with inappropriate sketches and numbers of underage kids at local skateboarding parks.

Investigators write Hansen at one point worked for the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works -- and even had city life insurance putting underage boys as beneficiaries.

Officials say there is the potential for more victims in this case. If anyone has more information, they're encouraged to visit their police department.
