SAUKVILLE (WITI) — Ozaukee County Sheriff’s officials were called in to assist Saukville police with a driving complaint that led to a pursuit that began in Saukville and ended in Newburg.

It began when Saukville police received a call for a vehicle that was all over the road. The vehicle was located, and police attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver refused to stop and took off west on Highway 33.

Saukville police say speeds reached 40 miles-per-hour briefly, but stayed below 40 for most of the pursuit.

The driver was found to have nothing illegal on them or in their vehicle once the vehicle stopped. The driver was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

The driver was arrested for failure to stop for an officer.

It is unclear at this time why the driver fled from police.
