Police investigate double homicide in neighborhood near Stadium Interchange

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a double homicide in a neighborhood near the Stadium Interchange.

Police were called to the area of 38th and Park Hill just after 4 a.m. after a newspaper carrier discovered two African American men dead in a parked black Honda. Investigators say the victims had been shot.

Police say the vehicle, which was parked on the side of the street, was stolen from Milwaukee's south side this past weekend -- and the registration was not from this area.



At this time, police are going door-to-door, trying to figure out if anyone saw anything or if the men have any association with the area.

Right now, there are more questions than there are answers.

Gonzo Couto-Lain hopes video he captured on his home security system and gave to police, could help solve a mystery.

"You'd think a few shots somebody would have woke up, but nobody heard anything," said Couto-Lain.

Asource says the men were sitting in the front seat and seemed to have been shot by someone who was in the backseat and took off.

The chief says the identities of the victims were not immediately known. Neither was who shot them and why.

"As you know we uncovered a double homicide today. The investigation is continuing. We're still trying to identify the two victims, they were in a stolen car in a neighborhood that is otherwise stable and quiet," said Milwaukee Police Chief, Ed Flynn.

One of the neighbors said the car had what seemed to be an overnight parking ticket on the windshield. It's not clear when that ticket was put on the car.

Officials say they are working with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office to identify the victims. No arrests have been made.
