Demolition to begin on westbound lanes of Hoan Bridge
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is set to begin demolition operations on the westbound lanes of I-794 (Hoan Bridge). This, as the second phase of the bridge project gets underway.
The demolition area will cover from the lake interchange to the Milwaukee River. The work involves removing the existing westbound bridges, replacing them with new structures, concrete repaving and surface work.
Demolition is scheduled to take place for the next several weeks. Motorists should expect periodic closures of the streets underneath the bridge to perform this work. And as always, all closures are weather dependent and subject to change.
