Excitement palpable at Lambeau Field, in Milwaukee as Packers defeat Dallas Cowboys

GREEN BAY/MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Green Bay Packers secured a trip to the NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks with a 26-21 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, January 11th. Green Bay Packers fans couldn't be more pumped that the Pack is now one step closer to the Super Bowl!

The excitement was palpable at Lambeau Field Sunday -- before, during and especially after the game. About 70,000 fans were on hand for the big playoff matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

FOX6's Brad Hicks was there, taking it all in and talking with fans ecstatic to see a Packers victory over the Dallas Cowboys. It was a nail-biter of a game -- and fans were emotionally drained after the game. This one almost got away, and that's not what fans were predicting would happen ahead of the game.

Cowboys fans were equally confident as the clock ticked toward kickoff -- but when it was all over, Packers fans couldn't contain themselves!

"It's awesome! Here comes Seattle!" one fan said after the Packers clinched their victory Sunday.

"On to Seattle baby!" one Packers fan said.

The excitement Sunday extended across the state. FOX6's Stephanie Grady was at Evolution Milwaukee on E. Chicago Street in the heart of the city's Third Ward. There, fans gathered Sunday, hoping and praying for a Packers victory -- and they got it!

It was an up and down Sunday at Evolution, with a lot of sweaty palms and heated moments as fans watched the game.

"Let's do it!" Andre Ghelfi-Thomas said.

"It's a great day to be a Packers fan!" Thom Campbell said.

David Busse is an Illinois transplant -- but don't tell the Chicago Bears!

"After living here six years, the Packers are growing on me. Please forgive me Illinois," Busse said.

The green and gold supporters looked a little green in the face at times during the nail-biter of a game.

"A little nervous, a little nervous," one Green Bay Packers fan said.

"Rodgers is looking very tentative -- not so fast on his feet today," Andre Ghelfi-Thomas said.

But when the Packers made a big play, the place went wild!

"We just had to relax. We just had to calm down. Rodgers had this -- and we won the game. It's that simple," Andre Ghelfi-Thomas said.

"Bring on Seattle!" Campbell said.

The Packers take on the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle next Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. — and you’ll be able to see the game ONLY ON FOX6!
