Police identify two men shot, killed after altercation at bar on city’s north side
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police on Tuesday, February 10th identified the two men who were shot and killed following an altercation at a bar near 53rd and Green Tree Road early Sunday, February 8th. The victims are identified as 22-year-old Desha Robertson and 38-year-old Terrance Anderson. Witnesses say one of the victims died trying to protect someone.
Shots rang out around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. This, after police say an altercation involving up to four people occurred inside a bar. The shots were fired as the group moved towards the door.
“I know it ain`t right when a man comes to work in a ski jacket and leaves in a body bag. He was just coming to make a living for his family,” Derrell Anderson said.
Derrell Anderson owns New Entertainer’s bar where the shooting occurred. His older brother is Terrance Anderson — one of two killed early Sunday.
“He was a good man. He didn`t deserve this. He had a family, worked hard, came out here to help me out when he could. Terance was inside. Everybody was having a good time. Some gentlemen on their way out the door — from what I understand, Terance was at the front door — accosted a young lady. (Terance) intervened. One of the gentlemen shot him. Then on the way out the door, they bumped into another man and he said they — and they shot him too. No compassion,” Derrell Anderson said.
This senseless crime has rocked two families.
The good news for family members: They feel there is some hope those responsible for this incident will be apprehended. Surveillance cameras both inside and outside the bar were able to capture some footage of the incident.
Milwaukee police continue to seek the suspects.
