Report: Rapid bus line could cut travel time in half between downtown Milwaukee, regional medical center

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A report by the Public Policy Forum urges local officials to consider improvements to the bus system.

The report suggests a rapid bus line running east and west could cut the travel time in half between downtown Milwaukee and the regional medical center.

It suggests creating bus-only lanes, removing some bus stops to speed up service and giving buses the ability to change traffic signals to avoid stopping at red lights.

It would cut the time of service to 14 to 25 minutes, compared with about 30 minutes currently.
