City officials release details on upcoming disciplinary appeal hearing for Christopher Manney

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- City of Milwaukee officials have released details on the upcoming disciplinary appeal hearing for former Milwaukee Police Officer Christopher Manney.

The Fire and Police Commission has announced the appeal hearing is scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 19th, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. If needed, the hearing will continue on Friday, March 20th, 2015 at 4:30 p.m., and on Saturday, March 21st, 2015, at 9:00 a.m.

The Honorable Michael J. Skwierawski will serve as Hearing Examiner.

The panel which will hear and decide the matter will consist of Commissioners Sarah Morgan, Steven DeVougas and Kathryn Hein.

The hearing will take place in City of Milwaukee Municipal Court, Branch 1, located at 951 N. James Lovell Street in Milwaukee.

The hearing is open to the public.

Because there is limited seating in the courtroom, a live audio/visual feed will be streamed into the Municipal Court lobby which has additional seating.

Due to the aforementioned hearing, the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, originally scheduled for March 19th, 2015, will not take place.  The next regular meeting will be held on April 2nd, 2015.

Manney shot and killed 31-year-old Dontre Hamilton at Red Arrow Park in Milwaukee last April. He has been terminated from the Milwaukee Police Department for his handling of Hamilton that day.
