Just Between Friends consignment sale helps parents shop on a budget

WEST BEND (WITI) -- As a teacher and mom of three girls, Amanda Schneider is on the hunt for good deals.

She found just that when she stumbled upon Just Between Friends.

"I kind of have my system. I look at the shoes, clothes, and dresses for the girls, and I look at books and toys for my room too my classroom," said Schneider.

Just Between Friends is a consignment sale held at Washington County Fair Park. It has thousands of gently used clothes for infants up to 18-year-olds, toys, and newborn products.

"I always tell everyone it's always anything and everything a kid needs, wants or uses," said Just Between Friends Event Coordinator Ammie Maltz.

All of the goods are brought in and priced by consigners, who are just people in the community looking to make a profit on items they no longer use.

"I don't set the prices for the people, they set it for themselves and I always tell them to get a better deal you need to reduce," said Maltz.

Those looking for an even better deal when you're shopping on Saturday and Sunday if you find a red star on the tag it's full price, but if there's no star it's half off.

Before anything goes on sale everything is thoroughly inspected.

The baby products and some of the toys are even examined by a recall specialist.

"Our number one thing is safety for the community and we don't want any children to be out there in an unsafe environment or unsafe toy," said Maltz.

Helping shoppers like Schneider get quality products on a budget.

The Just Between Friends consignment sale runs through Sunday at Washington County Fair Park.
