Police arrest 18-year-old student found to be in possession of handgun at Madison High School

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say a student was arrested at James Madison High School on Wednesday, March 11th.

The 18-year-old male student was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a handgun, police say.

The arrest occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m.

Tony Tagliavia, the spokesman for Milwaukee Public Schools tells FOX6 News:


"There was an incident involving a student who tried to enter the building. Staff were able to isolate the student before the student came into contact with other students. We are cooperating with police in their investigation. We did notify families about this situation."
