Developing: UW-Milwaukee police investigate sexual assault of student

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred early Friday, March 13th.

A campus safety alert posted on UWM's website says the assault occurred around 3 a.m. near Kenwood Blvd. and Oakland Ave. The victim, a UWM student, was approached by an unknown person from behind. The suspect sexually assaulted her -- and fled in an unknown direction.

The Milwaukee Police Department was made aware of this incident -- and are now asking anyone with information on this case to call 414-935-7360.
