Attention drivers: Work begins at the end of the week on I-43 in Walworth, Waukesha counties

WALWORTH/WAUKESHA COUNTIES (WITI) -- Beginning Friday, March 27th, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to recommence work on I-43, from US 12 to WIS 83, in Walworth and Waukesha Counties.

A single lane closure on I-43 (southbound) is scheduled to begin Friday. A short term closure of the WIS 83 (southbound) on-ramp to I-43 is scheduled for mid-May. Major earth moving operations are scheduled to begin the first week of April.

The contractor, Payne and Dolan, plans on completing the project in late spring. The schedule is weather permitting and subject to change.
