One in custody following police pursuit that spanned two counties

RACINE (WITI) -- One person was taken into custody early Thursday morning, April 23rd after a police pursuit that spanned two counties.

Around 12:40 a.m., the Racine County Communications Center advised that Oak Creek police and Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials were actively pursuing a vehicle that was believed to be stolen and was entering Racine County via I-94 southbound.

The vehicle had already struck road spikes. The front driver's side tire had deflated and the vehicle was continuing to drive on the rim.

Racine County Sheriff's deputies engaged in the pursuit on I-94 at the 27th Street on-ramp.

At Two Mile Road, deputies deployed spike strips, which flattened the passenger side tire. The vehicle eventually stopped on I-94, just south of Highway 20.

The lone subject in the vehicle was taken into custody by Oak Creek police.
