Good police work: Officers bust suspect immediately after he tried to break into a west side business

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police were able to arrest a suspect immediately after he tried to break into a west side business.

Officers responded to the business in the 900 block of N. 27th Street shortly after 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 10th.

Responding officers were notified a man in a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants was using a cement block to try to break the front door.

Police found the suspect immediately and also noticed damage to the front door.

The suspect, a 22-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody and later confessed to the crime.

Investigators are looking into whether the same suspect might be responsible for two similar burglaries at the same location in March.

Charges will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office soon.
