41-year-old woman dropped off at gas station near 26th & Capitol after she was shot nearby

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say a 41-year-old woman was dropped off at a gas station near 26th and Capitol after she was shot on Tuesday, July 7th.

Police were called out to the gas station around 4:00 p.m.

Police believe the shooting occurred in the 3800 block of N. 27th Street -- as two subjects exchanged gunfire.

It does not appear the woman was the intended target, police say.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. It is believed she will survive.

Police are seeking the suspect(s) responsible for this shooting.
