Lightning strike sparked fire at vacant building near 27th and Layton

MILWAUKEE — Firefighters on Friday morning, September 18th were called out to the scene of a building fire near 27th and Layton. The call came in around 1 a.m.

According to officials, a lightning strike sparked a fire at the old Chancery building. Police say it was a minor fire on the roof.

The building is vacant.

Firefighters are still working on a damage estimate.

No one was hurt.
