Rebecca Bradley applies for Wisconsin Supreme Court vacancy

MADISON — State Appeals Court Judge Rebecca Bradley has applied to be appointed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the only one of three candidates for a full 10-year term to do so.

Bradley said Friday she had applied for the appointment to complete the final 10 months on Justice Patrick Crooks' term. He died in office last week.

Bradley is among three judges who are also running for a full term on the court. The other two candidates are not applying for the appointment, saying it would not be appropriate since they are running for a full term.

They are Appeals Court Judge Rebecca Bradley and Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Joe Donald.

Gov. Scott Walker has twice appointed Bradley to other judicial openings. He will be making the Supreme Court appointment.
