"We have not forgotten:" Two families seek justice in 2007 murder mystery

MILWAUKEE -- Eight years later and still no answers. Two recording artists on the rise were killed at their Milwaukee studio, but family members are not giving up hope that the killer will be caught as they keep their memories alive.

JeTannue Clayborn and Yolanda "LaLa" Brown, were on the verge of making it big. But the dreams of the record producer and artist ended in tragedy.

Off a busy street on Milwaukee's north side, a busy woman slows down for a day of reflection.

"The legacy of his life. The things he did in this community and how he touched people with this music," said Dinah Chambers, victim's mother.

Friends and family come together to remember two young musicians on the rise, killed tragically eight years ago.

"We've had some good days, we've had some bad days," said Chambers.

October 19th, marks the anniversary of their deaths.

"That day was one of the hardest days of my life; when I got that phone call and they said that my son was gone," said Chambers.

JeTannue "Kool-Aide" Clayborn, was a music producer and LaLa Brown, was a singer. The two were found shot and killed inside a recording studio at 55th and Lisbon Avenue back in 2007.

"It's a day I don't wish any family would have to go through," said Chambers.

"It took time for it to actually resonate with me in my head that it was true," said Jasmine Tyler, friend.

The murders remain unsolved, and that is why they gather.

"Both of the families deserve justice," said Tyler.

They hope someone knows something that will lead to an arrest.

"It can be frustrating wanting to know what happened -- why it happened," said Chambers.

Seeking justice for two families who are tired of waiting.

"We have not forgotten about this yet," said Chambers.

Family is asking for anyone who might know anything to call police. They say any tip can help.
