U.S. Marshals search for Philip Shaw, convicted of sexual assault

WEST ALLIS -- U.S. Marshals are looking for 52-year-old Philip Shaw.

Shaw is convicted of a sexual assault that took place in West Allis in February 2014.

U.S. Marshals say Shaw stopped appearing in court shortly after his trial began in July 2014. The jury came back with a guilty verdict anyway and a bench warrant was issued for Shaw's arrest.

U.S. Marshals say Shaw has been in and out of prison since the 70s. His criminal history includes arrests for forgeries, thefts, burglaries and some drug use.

After the sexual assault, a criminal complaint says Shaw tried to commit suicide. U.S. Marshals say Shaw could be a danger to others, as well as himself.

Philip Shaw is 5'10'' and weighs 180 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call U.S. Marshals at 414-297-3707.
