Packers to face another division rival; this time on the road: Taking on Vikings in Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS -- The 6-3 Green Bay Packers are back on the road this week -- to face another division rival. This, after a loss last Sunday, November 15th to the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field.

Kickoff is at 3:25 p.m. Sunday -- and it's a game you can watch ONLY ON FOX6!

The Packers have lost their last three games -- falling to two undefeated teams on the road prior to the matchup vs. the Lions.

Sunday, November 22nd marks the Packers third road game in the last four weeks.

Perhaps the biggest news this week is word that QB Aaron Rodgers was limited in practice on Wednesday, November 18th as a result of a shoulder injury.

Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday he has “no concern” for Rodgers’ availability for Sunday’s NFC North showdown in Minnesota -- according to Packers.com.

Rodgers is listed on the Packers’ injury report as having a sore right shoulder.

McCarthy said he was not aware of when or how Rodgers sustained the injury.

“He’s banged up. Looks good so far,” McCarthy added.

There's hope among Packers fans for a win this week in Minnesota -- after three straight losses for the Packers, who were undefeated just weeks ago.

The Minnesota Vikings are 7-2 on the season.

Green Bay has won four of the last five games at Minnesota.

The Packers and Vikings have met 109 times, including two post-season contests. The Packers hold a 58-49-2 edge over the Vikings in the all-time series.

The series began when the Vikings entered the league in 1961, and Vince Lombardi’s Packers won nine of the first 10.

Of the past 26 regular-season meetings between the teams, 18 of those games have been decided by seven points or less, including a 24-21 Packers victory in Minnesota last season in Week 12.

Green Bay is in the midst of a four-game stretch against division opponents, with all four games taking place in the span of 19 days.

It is the first time Green Bay has played four straight games against division opponents in a single season since 2000 (Weeks 14-17).

If the Packers win this week in Minnesota, it will mark three consecutive victories on the road against the Vikings -- which would be the longest road winning streak for the Packers in the series since winning five straight from 1980-85.

Green Bay has won six of its last seven NFC North games. The team is looking to improve to 5-2 against NFC teams this season.

Green Bay returns to Lambeau Field in Week 12 for a Thanksgiving night game against the Chicago Bears. It will be the first home Thanksgiving game for Green Bay since 1923.
