UW-Milwaukee student robbed on campus; three suspects take off in stolen vehicle
MILWAUKEE -- The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee reports a student was robbed while walking on campus near N. Stowell and E. Linnwood Avenue.
The robbery occurred on Friday, November 20th at approximately 3:00 p.m.
According to the UWM Police Department, the student was walking southbound on N. Stowell Avenue when a suspect knocked their phone out of their hand and ran with it. Then, a second suspect, grabbed the student from behind and forcibly took their backpack.
Police say both of the suspects jumped into a white 2014 Ford Explorer SUV with Wisconsin license plate 803 WGA -- which was reported stolen with the West Milwaukee Police Department.
The suspect's vehicle fled southbound from the scene.
The victim was not injured and no weapons were observed.
Authorities are describing the first suspect as an African-American male, early 20s, short black hair, wearing a red sweatshirt and jeans.
The second suspect is described as an African-American male, early 20s, short black hair and wearing jeans.
The description of the driver, the third suspect, is unknown.
