Red and yellow tape lines the alley along Sherman Boulevard, just north of Capitol.

"My kids room is in the back of the house so that makes it a little more...it upsets you," said Steven Harris, neighbor.

Mesha and Steven Harris live next to the yard where Banks was found.

Mesha says her family can occasionally hear gunshots that sound like they're coming from the alley, and that young men will sometimes run through it.

"I've seen guys come from across the street run though. They'll run through, they choose these yards for some reason -- they'll run through my yard," said Mesha.

The scene Friday morning is jarring, the body lies in a yard surrounded by toys.

"This is really close to where we play," said the homeowner.

The owner of the home wants to remain anonymous; he says he didn't hear the shooting but another neighbor told him the shots were fired around 3:30 a.m.

The homeowner says he discovered the body around 7:00 a.m., and made sure his kids didn't see it.

"My heart goes out to the parents," said the homeowner.

By early afternoon Friday, all is quiet in the alley. Steven Harris wishes it had been that way overnight.

"You should be at home spending time with your family, not trying to do what they did so it does hit home," said Steven.
