"Only brewed just for today:" Hundreds line up for uniquely Milwaukee Black Friday deal

MILWAUKEE -- What could be more 'Milwaukee' than lining up for beer on Black Friday? And it is not just any beer that is bringing out the crowds. It's a one day only, special Black Friday brew at Lakefront Brewery.

Before dawn, a line started to form. Some stood outside the brewery since 9 p.m. Thanksgiving night. The thirsty group waited for the limited edition beer.

"The excitement that it is only brewed just for today, the bottle even says not available tomorrow," said Rachel Cusatis, while waiting in line.

The line grew to more than a thousand people before the doors opened at 8 a.m.

"It has been so much fun standing in line with my brother next to me and getting ready to get that beer," said Cusatis.

The Black Friday beer has been a tradition at Lakefront Brewery since 2012.

It becomes more popular each year, and to keep up with demand., Lakefront produced 4,200 bottles in 2015 instead of the 3,400 in 2014.

"Maybe next year we will do a little bit more," said Lakefront Brewery President Russ Klisch.

After the doors open, the rush to the tap begins.

"This is the only Black Friday shopping I do!" said Rachel Tovar.

"It tastes really good. You've got a lot of vanilla in the front, a little bit of the bourbon on the back, you have got some caramel in there as well," said George Cashman.

And the flavor just keeps getting better.

"We are purposefully making the beer so it can be aged," said Klisch.

The beer sold for $15 per 22 oz. bottle. A pint was $8.

All 4,224 bottles of the Black Friday beer sold out just before 1:00 p.m. Friday afternoon.

If you weren't able to get your hands on the special brew, Lakefront Brewery will still have some on draft Friday night until 9:00 p.m. -- they're confident it will last through the night.
