"We're giving back to our school:" MPS alumni face off on the gridiron for 6th annual Turkey Bowl

MILWAUKEE -- Playing football and raising funds for a good cause. The Milwaukee Public Schools' alumni faced each other on the gridiron for the 6th annual Turkey Bowl Alumni Classic on Saturday, November 28th.

This year's competition is a little different, because this time former athletes are working together to raise funds to support scholarships and to expose more students to college and career options.

"We're giving back to our school. This is one big fundraiser. Each year, when we get our payout basically from where we place in the tournament, we give back to the school and donate," said Philip Cockroft, Turkey Bowl committee chair.

There was no fee for the tournament, but donations to support student scholarships were welcome.
