"I am optimistic:" Exclusive green & gold gear selling fast ahead of playoffs

GREEN BAY -- As the Green Bay Packers prepare to head to Washington, D.C. to take on the Redskins, some fans will follow the team. But most fans will be watching the game on FOX6 -- and there's some exclusive green and gold gear selling fast for those tailgate parties.

Hat for sale at Packers Pro Shop

A hat featuring the GB Lombardi logo from the 1960s is unique to the Packers Pro Shop -- and one of the more popular items. The Pro Shop carries the "Get Loud Lambeau" logo and the Lambeau Field logo, exclusively.

If you're looking for gear the team wears on the sideline, you'll find it at the Pro Shop, and of course on the Pro Shop's website.

"Everything has the be licensed by the NFL," said Lisa Treichel, assistant manager at the Packers Pro Shop.

But without the NFC North Championship title, it could take awhile for the playoff gear to roll in.

There is a large selection of jerseys at the Packers Pro Shop and one Packers fans are very happy to see back this year, James Jones, number 89. However, something they are sold out of in the Pro Shop is the hoodie he has been wearing underneath his jersey.

If you're hosting the homegating party: from crock-pots, to snack bowls, to beer mugs -- the selection is endless.

"It's just huge. I haven't been here in ages, but it's like, whatever you want, there is something there," said shopper Barb Cagel.

Cagel visited the Packers Pro Shop from Maryland -- which is Redskins territory. Her hometown is Fond du Lac, and this Sunday she'll be here in Wisconsin -- cheering for the Green and Gold.

"I am optimistic. I wouldn't say confident," said Cagel.

There is a pep rally planned in Green Bay if you`re not going to the game in D.C. That is happening at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8th at the Packers Heritage Trail.

The Green Bay Packers and Washington Redskins will meet on the gridiron at FedEx Field on Sunday, January 10th. It will be the last game of the Wild Card round in the NFL playoffs. It’s a game you’ll see only on FOX6.

We will have a FOX6 Blitz pregame starting at 2:30 p.m. — which will be followed by the FOX Sports pregame show and game at 3:40 p.m. After the game, stick with FOX6 because we’ll have post-game coverage live from Washington. Of course, you can get a full breakdown of the game at 10:30 p.m. with the FOX6 Sports Blitz.
