Fatal shooting of 40-year-old Michael Schafrik ruled self-defense

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office has ruled the fatal shooting of 40-year-old Michael Schafrik as justifiable self-defense.

Schafrik was shot and killed Tuesday, January 5th near 10th and Lincoln.

A 14-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested, as were another 14-year-old boy and a 33-year-old woman. However, the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office has concluded this shooting was self-defense, so none of these individuals will face charges.

We're told a verbal altercation began and escalated to a physical altercation between the group. There was a struggle and the gun fired, and Shafrik was killed.
