Appleton police subdue naked man who was apparently attacking drivers on Hwy 441

APPLETON — Authorities in Appleton have subdued a naked man who was allegedly attacking drivers on a highway.


Police say the 18-year-old was seen walking on the northbound lanes of Highway 441 on Sunday morning, March 20th.

A 22-year-old woman had stopped to call 911 when the man opened her car door and punched her several times. The woman was able to close her door when another motorist distracted the man. The man then began punching the windows of the other motorist.

WLUK-TV reports once police arrived, the man yelled at officers to shoot him. He was subdued with a stun gun and handcuffed, and then taken to a hospital.

Police believe the man was suffering from delirium. The woman had minor injuries. Police expect to refer the case for charges.
