Racine police investigate attempted armed robbery at Marathon gas station

RACINE -- Racine police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred Tuesday night, March 22nd at the Marathon gas station on Rapids Drive. Police were called to the scene just before midnight.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the clerk on duty who stated that a suspect entered the store, grabbed an item for purchase and approached the counter. The suspect stood at the counter and demanded money.

The clerk told police the suspect did not produce a weapon but implied he had one. The clerk refused to give him any money and the suspect fled the store.
