Wisconsin, federal flags lowered in honor of State Rep. Tamara Grigsby

MADISON — Federal and Wisconsin flags are flying half-staff at state buildings, grounds, and military installations in honor of former Rep. Tamara Grigsby.

Gov. Scott Walker issued an executive order to lower the flags from sunrise to sunset Thursday. Grigsby died unexpectedly of health complications on March 14 at age 41. She represented the 18th Assembly District from 2005 to 2013.

After her work in the Assembly, Grigsby served as community outreach coordinator for Dane County Executive Joe Parisi and had recently been appointed director of the county's new Department of Equity and Inclusion.
