“This app makes it easy:" Waukesha County launches recycling smartphone application
WAUKESHA COUNTY -- A new smartphone app called "Waukesha County Recycles" offers residents convenient information about proper recycling and disposal of a wide variety of household items.
The County contracted with the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s App Brewery, to develop the app which provides detailed information on what and how to recycle or safely dispose of items, and where to take them, along with navigation to the selected location.
“This app makes it easy for our residents to recycle right. The more residents recycle right, the more economical and environmentally sustainable the recycling program is,” noted Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow.
This app supports the Waukesha County recycling program mission of educating residents about recycling right which maximizes operational efficiencies, reduces costs and minimizes dangers to collection and recycling facility workers
