Police: Innocent bystander shot, injured outside FoodTown Supermarket

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that happened on Thursday evening, May 12th at 6608 W. Fond du Lac Avenue (near Fond du Lac and Hampton) -- an address which lists to the FoodTown Supermarket.

The shooting happened around 7:00 p.m.

Police say a 47-year-old woman was shot in the left thigh following an argument between a man and an employee of the store.

The suspect pulled out a handgun and the employee pulled out pepper spray, and the suspect was sprayed.

Police say the suspect then fired -- striking the 47-year-old woman who was an innocent bystander.

The shooting happened near the store's front door.

The suspect fled the scene after this shooting.

The woman was taken to the hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
