Two families displaced due to fire inside apartment building near N. 20th and Congress

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee fire officials responded to a blaze that took place inside an eight-unit apartment building located near N. 20th and Congress Friday afternoon, June 3rd.

Authorities say the fire was in the bedroom of one of the units on the first floor of the building, and spread throughout the second floor and into the attic.

A total of 10 people were evacuated from the building unharmed.

Two families who lived in the apartment building have been displaced and now are getting assistance from the Red Cross.

No injuries were reported.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.
