Police investigate homicide near Courtland and Potomac; 24-year-old man killed

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a homicide that occurred early Monday morning, August 1st.

According to police, officers were called out to area of Courtland and Potomac around 12:15 a.m. for a report of shots fired.

When police arrived on scene, they found a 24-year-old man unresponsive in the front yard of a home. The victim died on scene despite the life-saving efforts of Milwaukee police and fire personnel.

The victim has been identified as Jallahni Shabazz.

The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.

MPD continues to seek a motive and search for suspect(s).
