Police: Man killed in shooting near 70th and Melvina; 79-year-old man in custody

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday morning, September 4th.

The shooting happened shortly before 7:00 a.m. near 70th and Melvina.

Police say a 49-year-old man was shot during circumstances that remain under investigation.  The victim,  identified as Kevin Cowser, was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A 79-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody in connection with the homicide.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office will review this case in the coming days.
