84-year-old man seriously hurt following crash near Fond du Lac and Silver Spring

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a serious crash that occurred near W. Fond du Lac Avenue and W. Silver Spring Drive Thursday afternoon, October 6th.

According to police, at 2:15 p.m., a maroon Chrysler Town and Country minivan, driven by an 84-year-old Mequon man, was traveling west on Silver Spring Drive making a left turn.

During the turn, police say the van was struck by a black four-door BMW traveling eastbound, driven by a 25-year-old Milwaukee man.

Authorities say the 84-year-old Mequon man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Froedtert Hospital.

The driver of the BMW suffered non-life threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

Speed is suspected to be a factor in this crash.

Police will continue to investigate.

No other details have been released.
