Milwaukee police investigate “sudden death” of one-month-old baby boy

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police are investigating a sudden death that happened Monday, November 7th on the city’s north side.

According to police, a one-month-old boy was found unresponsive in a residence near Achilles Street and Auer Avenue around 7:45 a.m.

Despite life-saving measures by the Milwaukee Fire Department, the baby was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.  At this time there is no indication of foul play.

    why are these deaths always in poor black neighborhoods…..cant remember the last time I read about one anywhere else….

      I wonder that myself, Dave. Co-sleeping is all over the world, all income levels yet Milwaukee has deaths. The ones that were covered in the news DO indicate that drugs/alcohol were used by the “caregiver” from mom to a grandma to a boyfriend to a sibling. All the free cribs and $ will not save a baby when the caregiver insists on that drug or nightcap before bedtime.

    I guess it could be a variety of issues that are causing these deaths like lack of proper bedding for the newborns to SIDS possibly for this one.
