Caledonia officers save overdose victim with Narcan; he had just graduated from treatment program

RACINE COUNTY — Caledonia police saved an overdose victim with the use of the medicine Naloxone (also known as Narcan) on Tuesday, December 6th. He had just graduated from a drug treatment program.

According to police, officers responded to the area of 3 Mile Road and Main Street around 7:00 p.m. for a possible overdose.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male with no pulse and began CPR. Officers then administered two doses of Narcan and continued CPR.

Officers noticed the man take a breath and were able to locate a pulse.

Caledonia Rescue responded and took over life-saving efforts.

The man was taken to the hospital and then arrested for possession of narcotic drugs, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officials say the man had graduated from a two-year drug treatment program hours before the overdose.
