RACINE — Racine officials responded to a three-story apartment fire near 11th and Grand on Saturday night, Jan. 20.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire on the east side of the three-story apartment building. The building was occupied at the time of the fire.
Working smoke alarms alerted occupants of the fire — and everyone was able to escape the building without injury.
The fire caused an estimated $440,000 in damage. The cause remains under investigation.
It took firefighters approximately three hours to extinguish the blaze.
