$10K reward offered after fire destroyed building at Mt. Olympus Theme Park in Wis. Dells

LAKE DELTON -- Firefighters on Wednesday morning, Feb. 14 responded to the scene of a fire at Mt. Olympus Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells. The call came in around 3:55 a.m.  A spokesperson from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) told FOX6's sister station WMTV they are working with Lake Delton authorities to investigate whether the fire is connected to the Wilderness Resort dormitory fire that happened in January.

No arrests have been made in the Wilderness Resort fire, but they do have some leads.

A reward of $10,000 is being offered to anyone who has more information that will lead to an arrest.

Upon arrival Wednesday morning, crews found a single-story maintenance building fully engulfed in flames.  The fire was under control at approximately 5 a.m.

There was no damage to neighboring structures.

According to the Delton Fire Department, the building is approximately 120’ x 80’ and contained maintenance equipment used by the theme park. A preliminary damage estimate is not available, however, the building contained several vehicles and utility type machines.

The building is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation.

The operations of the resort were not directly impacted. Officials say the hotel and water park will continue to operate as normal.
