Watertown man arrested for OWI, 3rd offense, with daughter, 6, in his vehicle
WATERTOWN -- A Watertown man, 43, was arrested Tuesday night, Feb. 20 for OWI, third offense with his daughter, 6, in his vehicle.
It happened on the Highway 16/67 bypass, eastbound from the Jefferson Co. line around 3:30 p.m.
According to a news release from Wisconsin State Patrol officials, after the vehicle was stopped, a trooper smelled an odor of intoxicants, and field sobriety testing was conducted. Officials say the driver's daughter, 6, was in the vehicle. The girl was turned over to her grandmother and her father was arrested and taken to the hospital for a legal blood draw.
He was cited for OWI, third offense with a minor, operating after revocation, third offense, license restriction violation (ignition interlock requirement), operating without insurance and speeding (76 miles-per-hour in a 55 mph zone).
