Police: Man struck by gunfire during altercation in Milwaukee, suspect fled the scene

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that happened Monday night, Feb. 26.

Police were dispatched to the area of 13th and Ring around 8 p.m. to investigate a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 29-year-old Milwaukee man suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a verbal altercation escalated into gunfire. After shooting the victim, the suspect fled the scene and has not yet been apprehended.

The victim was taken to a local hospital -- where he is being treated for a non-fatal gunshot injury.
