76th and Silver Spring street racing crash, 2 dead

Two people were killed in a crash near 76th and Silver Spring Sunday evening, Aug. 15. Police said it involved street racing.

According to police, around 7 p.m., two vehicles were street racing; their drivers disregarding red traffic signals before one of the racing vehicles struck the victims' vehicle, killing both occupants – a 66-year-old Milwaukee man and a 21-year-old Milwaukee woman. Both died at the scene.

The driver of the striking vehicle was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

Milwaukee police are seeking the driver of the second auto that was racing.
