Fond du Lac house fire; flames contained to second floor room

Fire in Fond du Lac house

The Brief

    • A fire broke out on the second floor of a home in Fond du Lac Friday.
    • A police officer who first arrived on the scene was able to knock the fire down.
    • Firefighters are investigating the case of the fire.

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Fond du Lac firefighters responded on Friday, Dec. 20 to a fire reported on the second floor of a home on N. Hickory Street.

The fire was knocked down even before firefighters arrived. A Fond du Lac police officer used a portable fire extinguisher to put out the fire.

Fire crews checked for extension of the fire and determined there was none. Damage was contained to the contents of a second floor bedroom. 

Crews removed damaged items and ventilated smoke from the home.

Nobody was hurt. 

Fond du Lac Fire Rescue Fire Investigators will be working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
